Continuance of Court Proceedings

If you have a prior, legitimate conflict with a court date provided to you by the court for the hearing of your case it will be necessary for you to request a continuance in writing.

For Family Court matters please refer to the following forms on this website:  [hyperlink please] Appendix Form 24.8B Uncontested Motion to Continue or Appendix Form 24.8C Contested Motion to Continue.

For any other matters please refer to the form provided on this page for your use.

You should provide as much detail as possible and attach supporting documents.  This form must be filed with the Clerk’s office.  Keep in mind that it is in the judge’s discretion whether your request to continue a proceeding will be granted or not.  If your request was denied or you have not been advised that your request was granted, you need to appear at court as originally scheduled.

2.  The continuance form for “any other matters” will be provided to you Monday.  We can load it and I will make it fill in the blank once the website is launched.
